How Can You Claim for CNA Training Exemption?

There are many factors which may enforce Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to retake CNA training. If you migrated to a different state, you need an additional CNA training and re-certification to be able to begin working as CNA in that state. Your certification might lapse due to pursuing other profession as well.

There might be the numerous factors to get back the certification again, but only the alternative for it is retaking CNA training. In Texas and Michigan, CNA who've initially carried out CNA training and the certification has lapsed qualify for CNA training exemption. If exemption specifications are satisfied then CNA can retake CNA test and begin to work as CNA immediately after receiving passing grade and re-obtain the CNA certification. It's also available to the individuals who have migrated other state and had formerly taken the training to be CNA. The following are the specifications for each and every situation so as to qualify the exemption.

Expired Certification within the State:

* You should supply a copy of registry document to State Nurse Aide Registry attached with an application for exemption.

* The expiration of certification should not exceed more than 2 years prior to the application.

* Employer's letter stating that you have worked a minimum of eight hrs within past yr , approved by the Facility Administrator, Director of Nursing, or Assistant Director of Nursing have to be submitted.

Out-of-State Certification:

* You should have certification of another state within the past yr.

* You should send a duplicate of out-of-state certificate to current sate's nurse aide registry. The state where you received the certification should confirm the paperwork to be submitted.

* If the certificate does not list an expiration date or certificate has expired within the last yr, an authentic employee letter stating the dates you had been employed should be submitted. It should verify that you have finished a minimum of eight hrs of work during the past yr.

Completed CNA Training in another State:

* If the completion of CNA training is done in another state, and certification is other then you can qualify for exemption. The application must be filled and information about your training facility, including name, date started and completed, course syllabus, and achievement record should be provided.

Exemption allows sitting for CNA test without going for CNA training again. Correct application should be filled and submit it to Bureau of Health Professionals or Nurse Aide Registry in your state. In case your CNA certification have lapsed or planning to move another state, then you have to check if you can qualify the training exemption.
